SKEMA Job Service

SKEMA Job Service is a professional association that offers many students the opportunity to carry out temporary work missions. The goal of the association is to help students find jobs and, as a member, professionalize themselves from their first year in school. Although it is a small association, SKEMA Job Service allows for strong connections to be made, provides a first contact with the business world, and helps students to professionalize and develop their professional network.

The student club now works with many prestigious partners such as Auchan, Carrefour, Décathlon, Le Furet du Nord, L'Oréal, Volvo, etc.

Moreover, we collaborate on certain missions with SKEMA Job Service Nice and SKEMA Job Service Paris, which allows us to expand the reach of the missions entrusted by professionals.
Since its creation in 1990, students have the opportunity to join one of the following 4 poles: Business Development, Missions, Communication, and Treasury.

SJS's two main events are:

- The CNJS: The “Confédération Nationale des Job Service” (National Confederation of Job Service) brings together more than a dozen Job Services. Twice a year (in April and November), a congress is held. For the occasion, association members spend two to three days in the city of the Job Service that hosts and organizes the event. We had the chance to organize the CNJS on the Lille campus in April 2020. Unfortunately, this edition took place during COVID times and was held exclusively online. The Confederation has more than 300 student members who mobilize more than 20,000 students for their missions. In 2022, the CNJS generated a turnover of more than €1.5 million.

- The Student Job Fair: It is organized at the beginning of the year to connect students and companies.

THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAM
The main mission of this team is to approach potential new clients and maintain customer relationships with current partners.
Having good interpersonal skills, being proactive, and attentive are major assets for joining this team.

THE MISSIONS TEAM
The role of this team is to act as a link between the client and the students throughout the mission, from issuing the commercial proposal to sending the invoice to the client. The qualities sought for this team are good interpersonal skills, organizational skills, rigor, and the ability to work in a team.

THE COMMUNICATION TEAM
Their mission is to enhance the image and know-how of the association, as well as to increase its visibility among students and businesses.
They are responsible for both student communication and all communication materials for businesses (working closely with the Business Development and Missions teams).
Their tasks are diverse, including strategic communication planning, creating visual materials, online content, event management, etc.
The required qualities are creativity, responsiveness, and initiative.

THE TREASURY TEAM
SKEMA Job Service's treasury team is composed of four people: the treasurer, the vice-treasurer, the accountant, and the auditor.
- The treasurer manages the payment of students and makes tax declarations. His/her investment and rigor are essential assets.
- The vice-treasurer assists the treasurer in his/her daily tasks, manages the sending and monitoring of invoices to clients, and also manages monthly VAT declarations.
- The accountant is responsible for recording all financial transactions of the association each month. He/she is also the first point of contact for our professional accountant responsible for certifying our accounts.
- The auditor aims to optimize the association's finances and stay informed of new regulations related to associations. Their tasks are varied: issuing students' payment slips using Sage Business Cloud Payroll, issuing URSSAF, VAT, DADS, summary, and tracking tables, ensuring the relationship between the association and the banker, and establishing the budget forecast.
